The gate was built in the years 1724-40. After the demolition of the fortifications in the year 1877, the gate became a free-standing structure, a type of monument.
A gateway bearing the former name of Berlinskiej was built in the year 1724, on the spot. The new gate, from the reign of Swedish. The founder was the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm I.
The building has a rich decoration. The tops of the gate are decorated with coats of arms of State lands. The western façade is Viadrus-the God of the River Odra.
